Carol Cassada is an author who enjoys writing romance and loves soap operas. Her book "Westmore" seems to have been inspired by points Carol jotted down when she watched soapies in her youth. Carol says that writing has been her haven, especially when she went through troubled times at home. I can relate to this and agree that writing is therapeutic. Hope you enjoy Carol's interview!

Sounds like a fun read, Carol!
ReplyDeleteNot only can I appreciate the writing journey Carol has taken -- long ago notes tucked away and now brought to life in her current books -- but her stories sound to be wonderfully rich with twists and turns. The very things in fact that keep us so thoroughly hooked by our favorite soap operas! I imagine Westmore is just the sort of book that would be perfect for tucking into the beach bag before heading off for a relaxing day under a beach umbrella. Allowing ourselves to become deliciously lost in the hours with an exciting cast of characters. Well done, Carol :-)
ReplyDeleteCarol,
ReplyDeleteI agree with Deborah. This does sound like a fun read. You brought back so many memories for me while I watched your video. My grandmother watched her “stories” religiously. I remember visiting her and we’d all be sitting in the living room talking. All of the sudden, grandma would break out with these outrageous things her friends would be doing. Finally my mom would say, “Who did this?” and grandma would say, “My friends on the soaps.” I still get a big laugh about it because she would enthusiastically talk about them as if they were real people.
I saw on your website that you had completed your sequel and it’s up for revisions. Congratulations and future success.
Thank you for your feedback, ladies. As always your support of the authors featured on this show is much appreciated.

Btw, Sylvia, I forgot to mention that my husband and children are having quite a laugh at my expense this morning, since apparently I am the only person in North America who didn't realize it is currently winter in Australia :-)
ReplyDeleteI want to thank Sylvia for this wonderful opportunity and to everyone thank you for your comments. I hope you enjoy Westmore and stay tuned for the sequel.

Barbara, that's funny :-) Remember that Australia is upside down. LOL!

Congrats Carol. You have plenty of interesting characters and situations that you have woven together. Soap operas are popular because they have these ingredients and I hope your book catches on with the millions who follow the soap operas.
ReplyDeleteI agree that telling stories are great ways for us to make some sense of our lives and why many authors write. The best authors find ways to do this while capturing the imaginations of readers. I wish you the best in this and your future books.
